Kottu Being Weird?

Kottu is being weird this morning.

There are a couple of similar posts from different blogs scolding Sanjana, also giving him a lesson in anatomy. Either there is something wrong with the Kottu feed, or there is an angry person with multiple blogs or there is someone mucking around.

Clicking on any of these links lead you to nothing really. Just a notice that says “Sorry, the page you were looking for in this blog does not exist.”

Weird stuff.

  1. One thing you don’t know about me, I am more than a bit of a crazy dude. Ask my friends they’ll confirm this. Crazy as in manic depressive crazy. I actually take medication for it. Seriously.
Look forward to spending time with you, JUST the two of us.
Cheers and all the best mate

That’s part of a comment, by the author of these posts, sent in to Groundviews yesterday and checked as spam by Akismet. The background to this are comments by said author defending a sexist cartoon on http://groundviews.org/2012/09/10/a-tasteless-cartoon-twitter-and-indo-sri-lanka-relations/.

The said author, when told the cartoon was sexist & that to defend it was untenable, noted inter alia,

    For your information:
    Starting with my mother, who always kept her maiden name after marriage;
I have 3 elder sisters who are all educated to the highest level and have jobs any human, man or women will aspire for.
My wife works for an investment bank and she manages all our family finances, and is the key decision maker.
My niece has a doctorate, and my daughter is one of the most brilliant human beings on Earth and I have never given her reason for her sex to prevent what se wants to achieve in life.
This is the same for all the females in my immediate family and extended.

My response to said author’s comments, who found no problem at all with the depiction of Jayalalitha with her sari lifted up and the Indian Prime Minister looking up at her private parts was to hope said author was not found under their saris too often, looking up.

It played on the facile logic that to not be offended by the Lakbima cartoon would be also to not be offended by a similar suggestion, or depiction, with those closer to him, and loved more. And if the latter offended, so too should the former.

Said author went off the rails, and clearly this is exacting his idea of revenge.

    Good stuff.

Ah, nasty. Well, at least he had the sense to take down the silly posts (on all three of his blogs). Too bad Kottu caught it before he did.

      • Thanks for flagging the initial salvo. I am quite certain there’s more madness to come, given rather colourful description of self.
